Charges filed in Brunswick stabbing

BRUNSWICK -- The suspect arrested in a Wednesday afternoon stabbing outside Buehler's Fresh Foods on Center Drive has been charged with felonious assault.

Brunswick police say 27-year-old Karl M. Phelps was apprehended around 7:20 p.m. on Aylesworth Drive -- four hours after the alleged incident.

Police say a second individual, Joshua R. James, 31, of Brunswick, has been charged with tampering with evidence.

The victim, a 32-year-old man, who was stabbed in the chest, was taken to Southwest General Hospital. His condition is unknown.
