CLEVELAND -- A police standoff on Cleveland's west side Monday night ended when SWAT enterted the house and did not find anyone inside the home.
Cleveland Police SWAT responded Monday night to the 3300 block of Walton Avenue, where a man had barricaded himself in his home after allegedly shooting his neighbor.
After making entry into the home just before midnight, police found an empty house, but did recover a weapon.
Officials say the suspect is described as a 5-foot-7 hispanic male in his late 20s to early 30s, wearing a green shirt and possibly driving a Honda.
He is considered armed and dangerous.
Police received a call at 9:30 p.m. reporting a male shot at the Walton Avenue home.
Once on scene, police were told that the man shot his neighbor, ran into his home and would not come out.
The victim was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.
Police took five young men into custody for questioning. It is not clear where the suspected shooter is.
