MEDINA -- New Medina School Board president Dr. Karla Robinson takes over in a swirl of controversy.
On Tuesday, former board president Charley Freeman resigned, citing the dispute with parents over the superintendent's salary and perks as the cause.

Superintendent Randy Stepp refused the raise and agreed to return the $83,000 bonus. He was still reimbursed $245,000 for student loans for further education.
At Wednesday's board meeting, angry district parents called for Stepp's resignation and the resignations of all board members involved in the Superintendent's new contract.
The president of the boosters says the mistrust is affecting donations.
"Before I vote yes, I want it in writing. My trust in all of you is gone," one parent said.
The president's resignation left an open spot on the board. Members are accepting applications for what will be the third appointee.
All three positions will be up for grabs after Dec. 31.
Medina hasn't passed a levy in five years but hopes to in the spring. Parents say the credibility gap will affect their vote.
