COLUMBUS -- Gas prices in Ohio are higher to start the work week, but the state's motorists are still paying less than the national average.
The state average for a gallon of regular gas was $3.56 in Monday's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express. That's 12 cents higher than last week and 31 cents lower than a year ago.
The Ohio price is about a nickel below the national average of $3.61, which is down 2 cents from the national average a week ago.
Oil rose above $107 a barrel Monday after a disappointing U.S. jobs report made it more likely the Federal Reserve will continue its stimulus program beyond September.
