CLEVELAND -- As tailgaiting and activity in FirstEnergy Stadium ger underway, there are several changes coming.
Some fans are unhappy that The NFL is implementing some big changes involving what you can and can't bring with you into the stadium.
For security reasons, fans can no longer bring backpacks or large bags into stadiums. These new rules start with Thursday's first preseason game against the Saint Louis Rams.
The banned items include:
- Most purses
- Backpacks and cinch bags
- Fanny packs
- Camera bags
- Coolers
- Seat cushions
Guests are allowed to carry items in a clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag, that's 12" x 6" x 12" or smaller. You can also use a gallon-size freezer bag.
Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items, which will have to be inspected before you enter the stadium.
The changes come after the Boston Marathon bombing.
Similar measures have started at some college stadiums.
