CLEVELAND -- Ariel Castro faces a new indictment on just short of 1,000 charges Wednesday morning in the disappearance cases of Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight.
He was indicted on similar charges in June. He is expected to plead not guilty to hundreds of new charges, just like he did last time.

If convicted, Castro faces prison time in excess of 21,000 years.
Castro faces charges that include kidnapping, and repeated rape against Berry, DeJesus and Knight, while holding them captive for a decade in his Seymour Avenue home.
The latest 977-count indictment includes 446 counts of rape and aggravated murder charges for allegations of causing the death of Knight's unborn child.
The indictment also reveals new allegations that Castro raped one of the women on Christmas day in 2006 -- the same day a girl he fathered with Berry was born.
"It is our hope that we can continue to work toward a resolution that can avoid having an unnecessary trial," said Craig Weintraub, Castro's Attorney, at Castro's June arraignment.
Legal experts say the new charges come as no surprise.
County Prosecutor Tim McGinty wants to sent a clear message by making a charge for every day and every act that carry a maximim sentence that would take hundreds of lifetimes to serve in full.
It remains unclear whether prosecutors will seek a controversial death penalty punishment.
WKYC will carry live coverage of Castro's indictment on air and online Wednesday morning.
