WKYC Health & Wellness Expo: Ask the experts

Be sure to join WKYC at the new Cleveland Convention Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today for the Health & Wellness Expo. 

The FREE event offers family fun activities, free health screenings and cooking demonstrations.

All day there will be lectures on various topics that are key to helping you live a better life.

Find the Health Forum next to the "Passport to Health" booth on the east side of the Cleveland Convention Center.

Each lecture features three experts covering different topics and then you can have your questions answered.

10:30 am Women's Health will be in focus. Dr. Sheryl Kingsberg from University Hospitals will talk about rekindling the libido and the latest info on therapies relating to women and better sex.

Dr. Tanya Edwards from the Cleveland Clinic is an expert on complementary and alternative medicine and drug free options women may consider.

Dr. Laura Rauser of Kaiser Permanente will focus on health issues women face in each decade of life and how to deal with them.

Noon will feature the Real Facts on Food. Pharmacist Alynn Anzevino of Kaiser Permanente will cover what you need to know about the supplements and vitamins you're taking. Registered Dietician Laura Jeffers of Cleveland Clinic will give us the Facts and Fiction of Fad diets.

Registered Dietician Amy Jamieson-Petonic gives us the basic facts on what you need to know about the preservatives in your food and genetically modified foods.

1:30 pm If you have questions about Health Care Reform must attend this lecture. CWRU Professor and Health Insurance expert JB Silvers, Kaiser Permanente Chief Public Affairs Officer Nancy Paton and CBIZ Insurance expert Ingrid Martin will answer your questions and help guide you through the complicated Affordable Care Act and how it applies to you and your family.

3 pm is all about Healthy Kids. Dr. Ron Adams of Kaiser Permanente will tackle combating obesity and children. Dr. Lolly McDavid of Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital will help guide you through your teen's angst period and give you ideas on how to achieve better behavior. Dr. Nancy Wasserbauer from Akron Children's Hospital will cover Allergy issues and kids and why they seem to be skyrocketing.

4:40 pm will cover Mental Health and Addiction Dr. Christine Delos-Reyes, Medical Director of the ADAHMS Board will discuss the Heroin and Opiate epidemic in Northeast Ohio and what can be done to reduce the rate of overdose. Jennifer Tulli and Johni Fiber of Recovery Resources will focus on Stress and your mental health and what you need to know if someone is having a mental health crisis. Dr. Art LaPlace from Kaiser Permanente will talk about the latest information relating to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in both children and adults.
