ATV driver slams into local school, later dies

CLEVELAND -- A 31-year-old man has died after crashing an ATV into H. Barbara Booker Elementary School in Cleveland early Thursday morning.

The accident happened around 2 a.m. at the school on Lorain and W. 67th.

Police say the victim, who has been identified as Carlos Javier Sanchez-Ortiz, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Neighbors told Channel 3 crews they heard the crash and called for help.

One neighbor said they tried to save the rider but it was too late.
