Akron, Cleveland families search for missing loved ones

CLEVELAND -- Families with missing loved ones continue to do all they can to keep their faces in the public eye.

On Wednesday a rally was held for 18-year-old Shirellda Terry who went missing a week ago on Cleveland's east side.

"Please just have a heart... I want you to treat it as if it was your daughter, if it were your child, if it were your grandchild, everyone is attached and connected to a family," pleaded Belinda Minor, Shirellda's mother.

With voices and signs raised, Shirellda's family and friends marched along St. Clair Avenue near East 147th Street, demanding people pay attention.

"I know somebody saw something and I'm asking that people will just be bold and be brave enough to really help me find my daughter," said Minor.

Meanwhile the family of missing Akron teen Taylor Robinson worries people are already starting to forget.

"It's not just Taylor. Somebody is out here taking out children," said Taylor's stepfather Jeff Rucker.

"I have not heard my child's voice, I haven't seen her face, I haven't been able to tell her I love her," cried her mother Carmilla Robinson.

Taylor went missing more than two months ago from a home on Kipling Street where she worked as a home health aide.

Her family has held rallies, searches, even prayer vigils to keep her name in the news.

"You can't understand how lonely it feels... you feel like you're doing all this stuff by yourself," said Rucker.

Another door-to-door search for Shirellda Terry will kick off Thursday at 5 p.m. near East 147th and St. Clair.

Both Shirellda and Taylor's families are offering a reward for tips that lead to the girl's safe return.
