BOSTON -- One of the three people killed in Monday's Boston Marathon was an 8-year-old boy from nearby Dorchester, Massachusetts.

Martin Richard was standing near the finish line waiting for his father to complete the race when one of the two explosions took his life.

The third grader was with his mother and sister at the time.

His mother suffered a serious brain injury, his 6-year-old sister lost one of her legs.

Outside their house in Dorchester, a single candle burned overnight with the word "Peace" scribbled on the sidewalk.
