CLEVELAND -- The Man of Steel will have his day in Cleveland.
In honor of Superman's 75th anniversary today, Mayor Frank Jackson is declaring April 18, 2013 as "Superman Day."
It was April 18, 1938 when Superman, who was created by Glenville-area residents Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, made his first appearance on the cover of DC's "Action Comics" No. 1.
A Superman flag will be raised on the steps of Cleveland City Hall with Superman himself in attendance at 1 p.m. Lights on City Hall and Terminal Tower will be blue, red and yellow and Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport will have cupcakes for travelers and a birthday card for the hero at its recently installed Superman exhibit.
For all of you Superman superfans, suit up in your best hero gear and strike a pose. Then, upload your picture HERE or tweet it to us @wkyc using #SupermanStyle. We will include your image in the photo gallery above.
