CLEVELAND -- Traffic is being rerouted in one of the busiest parts of Euclid Avenue because the street lights are out in the University Circle area of Cleveland early Wednesday morning.
The traffic light outage runs along Euclid Avenue from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Mayfield Road.
Cleveland and University Circle police officers are directing traffic in the area.
Westbound drivers on Euclid will be diverted along Chester Avenue at the MLK intersection, but can cut back down to Euclid after about a block.
Similarly, eastbound Euclid drivers will have to detour one block south of the MLK intersection.
A cable fault was named as the cause Tuesday, a Cleveland Public Power official said.
There is no timetable on when the traffic lights will come back on.
