Lake County: Painesville man killed in crash Saturday

CONCORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A 33-year-old Painesville man was killed in a crash on his motorcycle near the Lake County-Geauga County line Saturday.

Paul Widdowson was driving his motorcycle north on State Route 608, just north of the Geauga County line, when he crossed into the oncoming lane, hitting a car head-on.

Widdowson died at the scene, highway patrol said. He was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the car, Erica Hebrock, 19, of Montville, and her passenger were not injured in the crash. Hebrock was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Speed is likely the leading factor in the crash, investigators said.
