Justice Department holds news conference in Cleveland chase

CLEVELAND -- The Justice Department has called a 10 a.m. news conference in the deadly police chase and shooting last November that left two people dead.

Those taking part in the news conference include Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Thomas E. Perez and U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio Steven M. Dettelbach, Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson, Cleveland Public Safety Director Martin Flask and Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath.

In the shooting that followed the chase, officers fired 137 shots at two unarmed suspects, killing Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams.

Mayor Jackson asked for the DOJ investigation following the deadly shooting.
