20-car pile up at Snow & Engle Roads

NORTHEAST OHIO -- A wintry mix of weather this morning created treacherous conditions across Northeast Ohio, especially on bridges and overpasses.

The slick weather kept police, EMS and fire departments busy.

In Brook Park police handled a 20-car pile-up at Snow and Engle roads. The bridge had become extremely slick due to the icy precipitation. There were reports of two people taken from the scene with minor injuries.

Other trouble spots included the Fulton Bridge over the Zoo that had to be closed for a bit to allow road crews to get in there to salt the pavement.

ODOT says it has 42 trucks out in Cuyahoga County salting and treating roads.

The area was under a Winter Weather Advisory until 11 a.m. Conditions are expected to improve as the precipitation changes over to all rain.
