Tanker rolls over and spills into nearby stream

RAVENNA --  A tanker rolled over on State Route 5 at State Route 59. 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Department of Transportation has closed the highway and are asking motorist to avoid the area.

Troopers say the semi-tanker rolled over around 6 a.m. Sunday morning headed westbound on SR5.  The Tanker overturned while rounding the curve. 

The truck driver was taken to Robinson Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The tanker was carrying 7,800 gallons of off Road diesel fuel. The fuel is leaking into a nearby stream that the Fire Department is trying to contain.  

Emergency crews do not know how much fuel is leaking into the stream. At this time there have not been any evacuations.

It is unknown when the road will be re-opened.
