WKYC Web StaffPittsburgh -- The Browns are expected to fire Head Coach Pat Shurmur and General Manager Tom Heckert after Sunday's game in Pittsburgh. Voice of the Browns Jim Donovan reports from Pittsburgh that the players meeting for Monday afternoon has been moved up to Monday morning, causing speculation that the Browns new ownership group is ready to make the changes come Monday.
Shurmur has spent two seasons with the Browns. He has a record of 9-22, including a mark of 2-9 against divisional opponents. Shurmur also admitted this week during his news conference that the team has not won enough games during his stay here in Cleveland.
Jim Donovan reports a strong candidate to replace Shurmur is Indianapolis Colts Offensive Coordinator Bruce Arians. Arians has guided the Colts offense and rookie quarterback Andrew Luck into the playoffs. He was also offensive coordinator with the Browns during the Butch Davis era.
Jimmy also says another candidate is Arizona Cardinals Defensive Coordinator Ray Horton. Horton has been an NFL assistant coach for 18 years including a stop with the Steelers during 2004-2010.
