WKYC Web StaffCLEVELAND -- Cleveland City Council members are calling for dash cameras in every police vehicle at the council's final meeting of the year Monday night.
The comments come in response to the lack of Cleveland Police video from the police chase that turned into a deadly shooting in East Cleveland Thursday night.
Council members are also pledging to keep a close eye on the events surrounding the shooting as the investigation goes forward.
In a sometimes emotional council meeting, members not only called for cameras in police cars and a thorough look at what happened, but also why it happened.
While those speaking said they would not rush to judgement, they believe the investigation should be far-reaching.
"Now, we need to call Eric Holder in, the attorney general because we had the highway safety patrol, we had Bretenahl, East Cleveland and Cleveland Police and we crossed city lines," said Ward 9 Councilman Kevin Conwell. "We crossed city lines, so I agree with the chief. We need to bring the FBI in on this and we will be there every step of the way."
Council members also acknowledged the shooting victims and their families at the meeting.
