CLEVELAND -- Across the state of Ohio there are 1,794 issues on the ballot. Doing your homework beforehand can make some of the issues that aren't as cllear-cut a little easier to understand.

Here are a few in our Channel 3 News Today Ballot Breakdown.
State Issue One: This is an issue that is automatically on our ballot every 20 years across the state. It's been on the ballot since 1912, according to the Ohio Secretary of State's office it was approved then, and never again.
Basically this is a question asking voters that if we want a change to our state constitution - we would need to have a constitutional convention.
The measure was defeated the last four times it was on the ballot.
State Issue Two: This issue has to do with redistricting. As it stands right now the state legislature, every ten years, redraws our congressional districts based on shifts and population.
This amendment would mean that a 12 person committee, funded by the state, would be responsible for that task. Four members would come from the Republican Party, four from the Democratic Party (or the two largest major parties), four would be affiliated with neither party.
School Issues: There are 179 school-related issues on the ballot across the state. Nine school bond issues and 151 school tax levies. There are 19 that are a combination of both. The difference: Bonds are repaid with interest, and generally go for construction. Tax levies are paid from taxpayers and go towards operational costs.
Issue 107: Cleveland School Levy Issue 107 is money that would help the operating costs of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
The levy is a result of "The Cleveland Plan," one that supporters believe will pull the cash-strapped district out of the trouble it's in right now. If passed, Issue 107 would generate 67 million dollars a year. It would cost the average homeowner, of a $50,000 home, 63 cents a day for four years. The 15 mil levy expires in four years.
Schools CEO Eric Gordon says this is a way to hold the district accountable. If voters don't see changes - they can vote it down when the time comes in 2016.
Issue 61: The last time the Akron Public Schools put a levy on the ballot itfailed by just 197 votes. They are asking for support again with a 7.9 mill levy. It would mean a resident with a $100,000 home would cost $242 per year. This is a permanent levy.
Issue 108: Voters in Cuyahoga County will see the Port Authority Issue on their ballot. Voters wiill have to decide whether or not you want to give an increase in funding to the Port Authority. It's the first time in 40 years that the group has asked for more money.
The increase would cost the owner of a $100,000 home about $16.50 more per year for the next five.
It would generate 90 million dollars and 43 million dollars would be used to stabilize Franklin Hill, moving land and stabilizing riverfront property-which supporters say is viable to the economic viability of the Cuyahoga River.
Local Liquor Issues: Voters in 381 districts across the state will vote on local liquor option questions.
Each one is very specific to the municipality. Basically voters will find questions asking about liquor being sold at specific stores, and at specific times. The language isn't long and likely is referring to a store you drive past in your own neighborhood.
