Cleveland Weather: Windy & wet

Hazardous weather is expected to impact Northeast Ohio over the coming days due to what is now Hurricane Sandy.

Our biggest impacts will be strong wind and heavy rain. Because of these threats, we have high wind warnings and flood watches in effect for our area.

The most intense impacts of this storm will be felt Tuesday, with winds on Tuesday likely reaching sustained speeds of 30 to 40 mph, with wind gusts as high as 70 mph. Rainfall from now through Thursday will likely exceed 3 inches across many areas in Northeast Ohio. This is on top of all the rain we have had since last Friday.

The strong winds and heavy rain could lead to power outages and flooding, so it is important that people keep up-to-date with the latest information regarding Sandy and our weather here in Northeast Ohio.

FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Northern Ohio through Tuesday Evening.

HIGH WIND WARNING is in effect for Northern Ohio through 4 PM Tuesday. 

Monday afternoon: Moderate rain showers and very windy. Mid/Upper 40s. Winds: N 30-40 mph, Gusts up to 50 mph.

Tonight: Heavier rain showers. Very windy. Near 40. Winds: N 30-40, gusts up to 60 mph.

Tuesday:  Very Windy & Rainy. Upper 40s/low 50s. Winds: N 35-45, gusts-65 mph.

Wednesday: More rain and wind. Upper 40s/low 50s.

Thursday: Rain and wind winding down. Cloudy. Upper 40s.

Friday: Mostly cloudy with a scattered showers. Near 50.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, Dry & less wind. Low 50s.

Sunday: Partly Sunny.  High: 50.
